Grading Policy

The nine weeks average will be weighted using the following categories:

  • Test/Projects                                   60%
  • Quizzes/Assignments                       30%
  • Homework                                         10%

The grading scale will remain as:

  • A     90 - 100
  • B     80 - 89
  • C     79– 75
  • D     74- 70

Tests/Projects

Students’ progress will be assessed by means of a unit test.  Students are expected to complete all homework and class work problems. The test may include previous objectives as well as new material.  Test dates will be given in advance and a study guide will be provided. Throughout the course, there will be several math projects pertaining to the units studied.

Quizzes

Quizzes will be given during each nine weeks, some announced and some not announced.

Homework

Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday. Assignments will be due at the beginning of class the next school day.  All assignments should have the proper heading on the front of the paper and you must show your work.  Because neatness is essential, pencils are the only acceptable writing utensils for completing assignments.

  1. Will be written in agenda daily
  2. Students will receive a stamp for completed homework.
  3. Students should also be studying multiplication math facts for a minimum of 10 minutes per day.

Extra Credit

There will be no extra credit work provided. Please do not ask for extra credit.

Agenda

You are provided an agenda in which to record information from all classes.  For math class, you need to write the objective and homework from the white board each day.  There will be periodic checks to ensure that you keep your agenda up to date and that you bring it to school daily.

Graded Work

You are expected to keep all graded homework each quarter.  This policy is to protect you in case you have any questions about a grade.  It is also beneficial to have all your work for studying purposes.  You should file returned papers promptly in case you need to refer to them during the quarter.
